A roll over protocol of SEARCH 001 (A collaboration between SEARCH, Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Centre and University of Hawaii)

This roll over protocol will assess long term effects of HIV on cognition in patients who have completed the SEARCH 001. The goals are 1) To compare the long term cognitive status of patients with HIV infection, and 2) To assess the relationship between proviral DNA level, blood HIV viral load and cognitive status in patients with and without HIV dementia. The study will complete in 2009.
