PEPFAR is a program set up by the US Government with an aim to support treatment for 2 million people infected with HIV/AIDS, prevent 7 million new HIV infections, and care for 10 million people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS by 2008. Several US federal agencies are responsible for PEPFAR such as the US Agency for International Development (USAID), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Department of State, Department of Defense and the Peace Corps.
SEARCH is a partner in the US Military training program of Vietnamese military physicians. SEARCH has coordinated 3 to 4 training courses per year by working with training partners in Thailand including The Thai AIDS Society, HIV-NAT, Chulalongkorn University, Siriraj Hospital and Bamrasnaradura Institute.
