PEPFAR is a program set up by the U.S. Government with an aim to support treatment for two million people infected with HIV/AIDS, prevent seven million new HIV infections, and care for ten million people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS by 2008. Several U.S. federal agencies are responsible for PEPFAR such as the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Department of State, Department of Defense and the Peace Corps.
SEARCH is a partner in the U.S. Military training program of Vietnamese military physicians. SEARCH has coordinated three to four training courses per year by working with training partners in Thailand, including The Thai AIDS Society, HIV-NAT, Chulalongkorn University, Siriraj Hospital and Bamrasnaradura Institute.
